Learn how to create and send referrals from the Patient List Workspace using either quick send or provider search options.

Creating and Sending a Referral

The Rovicare portal allows you to easily create and send referrals to the most appropriate providers, helping ensure timely care coordination and better patient outcomes.

Where to Start

To create a referral, begin in the Patient/Member List Workspace, where all patients associated with your organization are stored.

  1. Navigate to the Patient/Member List Workspace

  2. Locate and select the patient you would like to send a referral for

Two Ways to Send a Referral

Rovicare provides two options depending on how you want to select providers:

Option 1: Send Referral (Green Airplane Icon)

Use the green airplane icon when you already know which providers you want to send the referral to.

  • Click the green airplane icon next to the patient

  • You will be taken to the referral page

  • Select one or more providers

  • Complete referral details and send

Best for: Quick referrals to known or preferred providers

Option 2: Explore Providers (Blue Funnel Icon)

Use the blue funnel icon when you want to explore and identify the best provider options.

  • Click the blue funnel icon next to the patient

  • Browse and filter providers based on your needs

  • Review options to determine the best fit

  • Proceed with sending the referral

Best for: Finding new or most appropriate providers for a patient’s needs

Complete Referral Details

Once you’ve selected your providers:

  • Enter service details and requested timing

  • Add any relevant notes or instructions

  • Attach medical records (ensure documents are marked Shared if they should be included)

Send the Referral

  • Review all information for accuracy

  • Click Send Referral

Once sent, you can track progress and responses in the Outgoing Workspace.

Best Practices

  • Use the green airplane for speed and efficiency with known providers

  • Use the blue funnel to optimize provider selection

  • Include complete and accurate information to improve response rates

  • Monitor referrals after sending to ensure timely follow-up
